MONTHLY GUILD MEETINGS
Monthly meetings: September through June
Guild monthly meetings are held at Good Samaritan Lutheran Church at the Lakes, 8200 W. Sahara Ave. Las Vegas, 89117 at 9:00 AM, on the second Saturday of the month, September - June. We typically have a raffle, Show and Tell, guild library sampling, business meeting, and a short program. Masks are optional, as are snacks.
Visitors are welcome! We also support an online Zoom meeting, and those on our email list receive email invitations with a zoom link a week in advance.

October 24, 2026
9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Dye Day. Watch the newsletter and your email for location and details on this annual exploration of dying techniques. Bring your own materials and use guild members' dye supplies and equipment. We will also share a potluck brunch while our newly-dyed creations dry.
November 14, 2026
No guild meeting in November. Instead consider signing up for the Spinning Workshop or joining us at the Spinning Circle on Wednesdays.
December 12, 2026

May 8, 2027
9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Our program will be a presentation, the Textile Historian with Meg Baker: “If They Only Stayed Little” The presentation focuses on the conservation process of a boy's skeleton suit, C. 1790.
June 12, 2027
9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Join us at Good Samaritan Lutheran Church at the Lakes for our Annual Meeting, including a membership vote on Guild Board Officers. We will also have a project show and tell, and share a potluck breakfast.
GUILD COMMUNITY DEMONSTRATIONS
Southern Nevada Farm Fest
The Guild will demonstrate spinning and other fiber arts for school groups at the Southern Nevada Farm Fest at Horseman's Park on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026.
NEVADAWEEN!
Join us in this annual celebration at the Nevada State Museum in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 30, 2026. Pictures from 2024 are shown above. Members will demonstrate handiwork such as spinning, weaving, knitting and other fiber craft. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite state symbol, historical figure, or anything Nevada-themed to celebrate Nevada Day.

October 3, 2026 10 am- 2 pm This annual Spring Mountain Ranch State Park celebration was great! Guild members demonstrated spinning and weaving for visitors.

Intermountain Weavers Conference 2027
The 2027 Intermountain Weavers Conference will be held in Colorado Spring, CO July 6-10, 2027.
Handweavers Guild of America Convergence 2028
HGA's Convergence conference will be held July 5-9, 2028 in Oakland, CA.

Complex Weavers Complexity 2024
The Complex Weavers gathering was held in Westminster, CO on July 11-14 2026. Stay tuned for information about the next event in 2028.
Other Regional Events
Sheep to Shawl, Cedar City, UT
The annual Sheep to Shawl event was held March 21, 2026 at the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum from 10 am - 4 pm. Watch wool go from shearing through washing, carding, dyeing, spinning, and then used in knitting, crocheting and weaving. Entrance fees were $4 per person, $20 per family (up to 8 persons).
Pomegranate Art Festival
This fine arts and crafts festival will be hed November 6-7, 2026 at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Logandale, NV. See the Moapa Valley Art Guild website for more details: https://www.moapavalleyartguild.com

Spin In with Sagebrush Fiber Artisans
The Cedar City, UT based group, Sagebrush Fiber Artisans, hosted their first Spin In on June 7, 2025 at the Frontier Homestead. Keep an eye on their Facebook account for more events!
